This course covers space propulsion fundamentals and other space related topics such as space systems, hypersonics and also missile systems.
Upon completion of the course, the student acquires knowledge about fundamentals of rocket propulsion systems analysis, design, development, testing and use for space applications. Learning outcomes:
•Solve, with original thinking, technical and engineering problems concerning the design, operation, architecture and performance evaluation of chemical propellant and electrical rocket engines.
•Describe the different propulsion systems, their components, manufacturing technologies and materials, operating principles, systems integration and testing for space missions and defense applications.
•Understand the European Space Agency (ESA) project management framework and ECSS standards related to space propulsion systems development.
